MOMM (36)

Midweek ear fodder:

Stryper: 7 (Best of)
Some of the best hard rock tunes are in the Stryper catalog. Generally, people are not interested due to the band's religious inclinations & it's very evident in the lyrics. I'm just re-living my 80s moments & Stryper is a must-listen for me. Sweet & Oz are a formidable guitar duo & it's plain to hear in this collection. I'm still keeping track of Sweet's side projects, his riff ideas song structures are just too good to ignore.

Beck, Bogert, Appice
This was Jeff Beck already plying his crazy guitar pyrotechnics with a generous serving of slide in a band which he said plays much heavier music (Hjort & Hinman, 2002). He was absolutely right. This was like a leftist take on what's hype back then. Also in this album - Carmine Appice's epic drumming.
