LTD: H-1001

The LTD H-1001 is a simple instrument made elegant by the headstock-neck-body binding but it's not all about looks. The craftsmanship here is simply superb & the guitar's placement in LTD's upper-most tier is justified. I would also accept the EMGs in there as the right humbuckers for the job; this is one of the best sub-$1K guitar I've come across which feature both great playability & tone but it's definitely not for those of us who employ polite levels of overdrive.

Many attractive LTDs are making their way to Davis these days, so in addition to the entry-level units, we can have a go at the upper tier models & justify the price differences. Trying hard to control myself as the current expenses are already allocated to instruments which are making their way here.

Kudos to LTD for constantly improving their workmanship. The LTD EC deluxe is a good buy too!

look carefully- the H1001 is there together with the FR version- i handled it yesterday. i'm positive it's no hallucination.

can't rule out the possibility of it being sold off, though :-)

the ESP Standard range should be the rightful competitor to the Ibanez Prestige. the LTD Deluxe models are spruced up sub-$1K guitar which Ibanez aren't doing for their range.

haha, i was there a week or 2 ago, saw a red h1001 FR at davis, then i looked hard there for h1001 fixed bridge version but can't find. maybe they only displayed the h1001 fixed bridge version recently. or maybe i'm just damn cock eyed.

It's very "rock" guitar!!!! :)

it's an all out, distortion-inclined guitar.

do you know which korean factory is doing the OEM manufacturing for LTD Deluxe and some BC Rich guitars currently? because afaik, cort and samick's factories in korea have already ceased manufacturing operations.

i'll make it a point to check next time but if you own one, check if the serial number starts with a 'W'...
