SE Santana... almost there.

Here's the older version of PRS' Santana SE guitar...

Meet the current manifestation, as above...

Finally, the original Santana aka the non-SE version. PRS has revised the Santana SE design to bring it closer to the real article however, the neck remains to be the generic selection- note the headstock design of the current SE make. The body is also not quite the curved top of the original version.

dun get what prs is trying to do...their necks for 2011 seems to be all "pattern standard" which from what i infer is the wide fat neck profile. prob the only neck profile of theirs i dun find repulsive is their wide thin...now they're gonna stop producing it? =(

and they seem to be trying out the traditional strat and les paul shape. and i mean really getting very close to the original =/

could we see this as a commercial influence- manufacturers conforming to sales more than anything else...?

i am OK with both PRS neck profiles. i thought their wide-fat make would be repulsive but it's very acceptable- so i found out after my McCarty acquisition :-)
