Smooth operator

This is the same Duncan YJM pot you initially read here: CLICK It's now available @ Davis GMC.

If you need a little convincing as to how smooth this pot is, the manufacturer had packaged each pot in such a way that the shaft protrudes out of the casing for your testing pleasure.

Make sure you get the correct value pot for your guitar. Despite Malmsteen being a committed single coil user (which would dictate the provision of the 250K version exclusively... but no), the manufacturer also offers this pot for humbucking guitars so for people like me, I've gotten myself the 500K version as indicated there on the top side of the package.

oh hey mr sub... i've somewhat solved the grounding problem without buying anything... all i did was plug a multi socket into the main power outlet, which uses a three pin, then connected the two pin tonelab to the multiplug, and the sound is significantly reduced and the grounding is better cos contact with my foot renders no change, but still a minute hissing, well i blame vox for that one

Bro, a little help in explaining on the diff between 250k and 500k. From your experience, when you know which to install and any type of guitar you'd use it in...

Hope you don't mind...

Thanks in advance...

bro, generally:

250K = single coils

500K = humbucker

bro sub, I have a humbucker equipped semi hollow guitar fitted with duncan jazz for the neck pup, but I still find it not warm enough for my jazz/blues outings. would i be better off with a pup change or pot value change? thanks!

i feel that Steve Morse deserves such signature-pots too.

i think you are not agrreable with the pickup character... if i were you, i'd try the covered version of the jazz pickup first then evaluate accordingly :-)

Whats the price like bro?

Hi bro, thanks for your reply. I think yea, im not agreeable with the pup character. Mine is covered though! I just find it not warm enough somehow! but thank you! I suspect its maybe my amp!

subversion.sg said...

:-) then try the uncovered version. is your amp a tube unit btw?

yes bro, albeit a small one! AC4tv

i see. try pluggin your guitar into an amp with a 12" driver to hear the diff (if any). the smaller drivers are notorious for giving off too much top end spark hence the lack of warmth to some of us :-)
