Ibanez: RGD320 mods

No, I'm not sick & tired of my Ibanez RGD320 (not yet, maybe...), I am making sure it serves my needs. As you can see, I have the Orange Drop cap in there...

The pickup selector is now 3-way (Allparts) & I have a pull-push pickup coil splitter which doubles up as the tone knob.

Pickups are still Ibanez's default VK humbuckers & that's about it. Loving my RGD320. Harold the helicopter isn't part of the mod, of course.

Who else but Master Beez- the person responsible for the above specs revision. You can click the link on the right to look for Beez for similar mods.

it's nice to have a jedi master right? i don't have jedi master nearby... the only available were padawan jedi (not a master) who knows pickup mods only. pickup this, pickup that...

hey bro, what's the purpose of that orange cap mod anyway? i saw most of ur guitars were moded with it

when i bought the JVM410H, it was $SGD1,900... :-)

the Orange Drop is a capacitor. unlike normal caps, the orange has a wider tone sweep, when you hear it in use you can note the sharper & deeper influences, unlike regular caps. if you could turn your tone knob very quickly with the orange in there, it sounds like a wah pedal :-)

Hey I just got a RGD320.

This is probably a stupid question at this point, but is it ever possible to have this thing tuned to standard tuning (EADGBE)?

I've been trying and it seems to correct itself back to D-tuning.

possible: re-set up is necessary to ensure the springs at the rear are adapting to standard tuning. you might wanna consider a set of .008s strings to complement this :-)

Hey, I have a RGD320 guitar and was wondering how to I set it up so that it would stay at standard E tuning?

hi there :-) you can set up your RGD for standard tuning by getting thicker-gauged strings (preferably a set of .011) & re-adjusting the bridge spring tension at the rear cavity.
