Schecter's Omen series are afforable bolt-on guitars. They are the no-frills offerings you should consider if you are looking for a simple guitar with great QC & above average default tone. The Omen 6's body's depth you see here is similar to that of Ibanez's (discontinued) SZ series, as well as Cort's Katana. The neck has that in-between profile which should attract the shredders & benders alike. The default humbuckers are a little flat to begin with but it responds to distortion superbly. At $395, it's certainly one of the best value-for-money guitar in my books.

schecter or ibanez? o master SUB..
But schecter PRICEs are so much appealing to a NON working /student like me,any tips to choose a good budget nasty guitar.
Omen 6 is a guitar for anyone to consider indeed. But i find its pickup not appealing enough to me. It sounds as if it is lacking something.
is the body shape a lot bigger than cort katanas?
Where can this guitar be bought? And in ur opinion, how does this guitar compare to the ltd 50 series?
Btw u have a lovely blog
yes definitely lovely.. best guitar blog ive seen.. it may not look so graphically prepared but the info and content is just amazing, the reviews also.. anybody who is good in web design might want to help make this blog much more lovely?
its a terribly good guitar, i have the Schecter Omen-6 Extreme, gotten from Guitar77 a few years ago. it was excellent.
its a good guitar for the price but I think one would still find it better with a new sets of pups for his liking.. stock pups might not stay for long...
000... good to know there's a sizable OMEN 6 fan base here.
Schecter guitars are available at Davis GMC...
sub, can we order Omen 8 from Davis? The walnut satin finish.
Hi Sub. I've got the Omen 6 Extreme from G77 a couple of years back.
It's great, solid guitar, but like you said, the pickups just don't seem powerful enough, especially the neck which doesn't quite do the job for rhythm playing.
Also, QC wise, the guitar has almost no problems with fit, frets and finish, except that the Omen 6 Extreme models appeared to have cream binding that are somewhat messy. Can't complain much about that for the price though. Overall, one of the better all-rounded guitars for the entry-level price range. Impressive cleans complimented with the push-pull knob feature that come stock.
