Phoenix: Headstock

The tuners featured in ESP's Phoenix II are a set of GOTOH's Magnum Lock by default.

This means the Magnum Locks will lock/ clamp down your strings as you tune. What's the benefit? These prevent strings slippage as you tighten your tuners, making your tuning more stable.

looking at the headstock, i just remembered my friend was using epiphone thunderbird bass... tuner placement was the only different between thunder and firebird

yeah there's some similarity in design between firebird and phoenix

firebird? pheonix?... hmmm, ring some bell?

definitely. current pre-occupation :-) i'm not a fan of tune-o-matic bridges, sunburst finishes, covered humbuckers but put together in this ESP, it appeals to me.
