Ibanez: RG721 (Part 1)

Brand new guitar for a brand new month: Ibanez RG721 :-)

Despite the stunning looks, the RG721 is a typical mahogany-bodied instrument; lots of midrange zing & clarity in the neck humbucker.

The Mahogany.

It was actually a blessing in disguise..after they told me that the 721 was already sold out in all stores, the guy recommended me a few other premium models but i told him i only have the budget of a thousand, so he showed me all the models under that price range, i held all the rg's in there to get a feel of the neck, played a few, even the luminous s models, but to my disappointment all of them didnt feel right to me, some were out of tune, some had rough fretwires, some had tone/volume controls that get stuck a bit halfway to maximum.. i was feeling a little hesitant to buy but was kinda feeling obliged to buy one because the guy assisting me was watching and waiting...so i told him that i'll just think about what to get and come back on monday, he agreed but i suddenly changed my mind and asked him if its ok if he leave me for a while so i could think, and he was very kind to let me. so i took a rg470 ash and sat down to get a feel of the guitar, honestly i felt that it played differently from the other rg's there, but it had flaws that i immediately noticed which made me decide to just leave the store.i retuned the guitar to its hanger, and the 470 mahogany was beside it all the while but it never caught my eye maybe because of all the eye candies in there. so i told my self, "hey i havent tried this one" ... I took it, played it, felt good, checked if it was in tune, and it was, and looked for flaws, and there was none. The guitar was perfect. I love it to death now. hehehe
