Plus points
- Pedal to the metal. Or should that be metal to the pedal? In any case, the Uberschall delivers hard distortion, no holds barred. Knocking off the gain in an attempt to tame the voicing is a futile attempt.
- Impressive EQ. I was messing more with the EQ knobs than the Gain (it's a variation of the same voicing, why try too hard to look into a section which you know would give you a variety of the same?). The EQs are the ones which would alter more tone than the gain control per se. This trio offer more than the labels so take your time to dial up your preferred setting.
- Boost, yeah! The boost section is a gem, it adds crucial saturation there instead of the typical fatness or volume any other boost unit would offer so cascading another mild, drive unit to get the job done is unnecessary.
- Harshness extravaganza. As mentioned above, the overall voicing on offer is a hard-edged one, very protrusive. This is a good thing for all things metal but it would frustrate you if you think you've parted with
marriage preparationprecious money & you deserve a dynamic pedal- not quite. Unless you are solely set on getting a no-nonsense metal pedal, you should consider Bogner's other pedals which would be appraised here. Soon, OK? (Yes, I've tried them all. Eternal thanks to Davis GMC) - That's small, Bogner. Yes, I'm referring to that boost dial, it's no bigger than a big facial mole so it makes life a little difficult for you. Yes, it's a bearable oversight but for the amount of money you fork out for this, you'd want something that makes more sense.
- It's that much? $295 to be precise. Is it really an Uberschall amp in a pedal? No comments, you try & let me know :-)
