This looks like a winner by D'Addario (new 2018)- a clip-free tuner that hosts onto an existing machine head screw. Discrete & out of the way, definitely thumbs up to this. However, it might impede neck placement during re-string, case storage, etc. (therefore need to own one to get the first hand account) but will definitely give it a go.

I got feedback from some of my performing clientele that clip-on tuners(not this one) goes haywire on stage. According to them the tuner tend to pickup other resonated notes that's hitting the bass/guitar. I don't know the exact threshold that made such tuner behave suchway but I hope the clip-on feature has solved the mentioned anomaly.
That's my experience with clip on tuners, especially when you have noisy bandmates, the tuner will pick up their notes. Think there's no two way about it if you want sensitive tuners. The other option would be floorboard tuners (input jack). Confirm no "stray" notes.
