This is perhaps my final addition to 2008; a
Smash S2 Lite. To many of you out there, it's a sheer waste of good money because it's an entry-level, subsidiary brand name product, made in
China. However, I'm not one who exalts a guitar by virtue of its brand name, exclusively. I love this one for its downright appeal on grounds of production QC & tone; it's very affordable as well.
Thanks to Mike @ Standard Value for a superb set-up!

heyy, read that this guitar's body is chinese ash... whats the tonal properties of this wood?
would it be better to get this guitar and upgrade the pickups, or just get a swing?
some stuff on ash: http://theguitaraddict.blogspot.com/2008/11/wood-talk-ash.html
it depends on you, really. if you think this guitar has good playability & sounds appealing, it makes more sense to put your money on this one- it's all about trying & hearing it in action.
i kept my default pickups in tact- i love them!
