Ibanez 2013: RG1550

I love this- the new Ibanez RG1550 in 2013 will feature non-locking hardware (look: Ibanez SyncroniZR bridge). But... it's gonna be black only (argh!). Also: basswood alder body + default coil split switch (volume knob :-)

Things are looking good in the Ibanez camp, the LTD camp is confusing everyone with the Elite range *pfffttt*

i actually like the synchroniZR, they just don't make too many models with this bridge, but they do in 2013 :-)

synchroniZR mostly (or exclusively?) on prestige models right?

So far, that's the case...

any "green" for 2013 catalog?

Yes... To be confirmed later. It's a Prestige, Lo-Pro Edge bridge (it's back!) + GREEN Fretboard :-0

Argh why no edge zero on this.........

the 1550 had seen a good share of dual action locking units in it, it's a good change :-)

hey sub the synchroniZR restrings just like a double action whammy right? meaning all the balancing of the springs must be done when taking out all the strings?

that's right, the SynchroniZR is fundamentally a shrunk ZR bridge, the dual action (lowering/raising) is still there :-)
