Broderick... to Jackson

WEF 2011, Chris Broderick is no longer with Ibanez. He is now in the Jackson camp. More updates to come but on the possibility of why he switched camp, maybe this quote (from the man himself) would shed some light:

I am lucky enough to not have to pay for my LACS 7 strings now but it took a long time and it really is about marketing and not ability.

And more recently:

“Let’s just say that the events that occurred with them this last year left me feeling like my guitar company wasn’t any where near as loyal to me as I was to them”.

No worries Mr. Broderick sir, there are too many of us here who believe in your abilities more than your brand preferences.

owh, why i wonder, his custom Ibanez not good enough? his Lacs Ibanez guitars are pretty much desired by most ibanez fans.

But then again, Jackson is synonymous with Megadeth. I assume if it's a custom, it must be good regardless of brand.

he he... if Jackson is really a Megadeth brand name, Mustaine shouldn't have migrated to Dean.

some of us feel that, whatever custom shop manifestation could be provided, nothing beats having your NAME on your instrument.

even junior (ellefson) have his own jackson's sig

the pressure now mounts on Mustaine; to revert to his Jackson embrace & complete the line-up :-)

jackson trounces ibanez any day, at any price point.

Its all about business and we all know it. If an unknown brand from Timbuktu wants me as their endorsee, i'll take it! :)

read from his forum that ibanez "wasnt as loyal to him as he was to them". makes sense to go with a brand that treats u better right??

he he... i like to see this kind of retaliation; players who are very capable but get 2nd class treatment because they are not as marketable as others, take their stand & move on. *applause*

Petrucci, Gambale et al left the ibanez camp before Mr. Broderick & we get the drift. yes, manufacturers have to move on as well because it's about the business but it's disheartening to see such severance.

but the implication we need to note is that good guitars are available everywhere, the brand name set them apart (not in quality mind you, but in identification).

Just look at the demand for Chris's signature but no news from Ibanez at all.

They didn't really release anything with Chris too. He deserve a much better company.

maybe Ibanez didn't SEE the actual demand for Broderick's Ibanez. *sigh*

...& off he went with better company :-)
