Sonic retainer

My first tinkering for 2011..

...is the swapping of my (Squier) Duo-Sonic string retainer. I have the rounded version in place of the former, 'vintage' version. The rounder version is more responsive to tuning, it is also devoid of sharp edges so it reduces the chances of string snapping at this part of the headstock.

It is the first time when I found this site.
I have very old Squier Stratcaster which made in Japan.
It still sounds nice.
I will upload its photo someday.

Hi,I have sperzel tuners which are staggered and are currently installed in my old guitar, do i need string trees for my guitar? The distance between the strings and the headstock is quite big, about 3-4 cm and I'm worried about breakage. If i do need them where do I get the ones you bought and how much would they cost?
