Compact

While the KORG people are busy reducing their Pandora (new 2011: Pandora mini) to a compact unit...

...the ZOOM camp is expanding their G1 series into the G3 unit (also new for 2011).

Regardless of the manifestations, I'm waiting to hear what's in store tone-wise.

too bad that G3 don't have expression pedal, i guess it's compatible with FB01/02 foot switch/pedal

from the looks of it bro, it's designed for desk top applications. i'm still skeptical when it comes to the tone of these devices.

And i'm so glad that both brands are carried by CityMusic. =) The pandora is a must-have for me.

whats the function of the pandora?

i think it's rather pointless for both ZOOM & Korg to churn out more of the same tone; it's more attractive if there's something more/new tone-wise.

Agree, that the tone is somehow the same, REMS technology, not much had changed really. But the fact that it is powered by a single AA battery, and a size so small, makes me very interested. It will be so easy to bring and set it up for jamming, and even gigs. Improvement is not just measurable by what we hear, but by what we see. ~1mb

but be careful of devices which are seen as improvement but has nothing fresh to offer when we hear it in use. then again, we shouldn't be dismissive of the things we have yet to try :-)

if i ever buy any more of these units, it's gonna be for office use when i am bored, he he...
