I grew up listening to lots of American death metal so James Murphy is a familiar figure in the scene having played in Death/ Cancer/ Testament/ Obituary among others (He used to be Ibanez's S-Series ambassador as well). He also founded Disincarnate. In 2001, Murphy received treatment for his brain tumor which side-lined him from playing guitar. A recent news coverage revealed a relapse of the aforementioned tumor albeit a non-malignant manifestation. If you look carefully at the above pic, the left side of his face was affected by the surgery- he has missing cheekbone portions so that's how serious it is. Just hoping everything's gonna be OK for him; one of the most talented player in this genre. Respect.
