More commanding

I'm hooked on what Chris Baker & Jonathan Thompson did in Atheist's Jupiter release. So today I gathered & re-listened to the similar stuff; music with lots of notes but retaining the aggression. It's difficult to command the heaviness if one plays too many riff notes but with some thinking, it could be done. On my list are:

  • Cynic: Focus/ Traced in Air
  • Spiral Architect: A Sceptic's Universe
  • Aghora: Formless
It's also partly due to the fact that I'm spending more time playing my 8-strings; it's psychological, really. I feel that I have more strings so my riffs/ licks last longer because I have more notes to play. Ha!
